🌿 ABOUT US – THE SUSTAINABLE ERA
The Sustainable Era was born from a simple yet powerful belief — sustainability is not a trend; it is a way of life.It is not something that can be achieved by focusing on a single product or practice, but through a balanced and conscious approach across all aspects of living. This holistic understanding of sustainability forms the foundation of our journey and is reflected in our logo, values, and every initiative we undertake.Founded in 2013, The Sustainable Era began as a grassroots effort to explore and implement sustainability in its truest sense. In our early years, we worked across a wide range of initiatives, believing that sustainability must address multiple dimensions simultaneously. We developed eco-friendly products such as fabric-based utility items, reusable sanitary pads, and functional products like chopping boards, gilli danda and lagori made from leftover babool wood and regular wood waste.
Each effort aimed to reduce waste while creating practical alternatives for everyday use.Alongside product development, we actively supported natural farming communities and goshala initiatives by creating awareness and enabling the sale of their products. The Sustainable Era also evolved into a supportive platform for individuals and small groups working in the eco-friendly space, helping them reach conscious consumers and sustain their livelihoods.
Education and awareness have always been integral to our work. We encouraged responsible waste management at the household level by teaching and motivating people to convert kitchen waste into compost. We provided visibility and support to natural vegetable and greens vendors, organized hands-on workshops on eco-friendly products, and arranged expert lectures and interactive sessions to deepen understanding of sustainability among communities.
Over time, our focus strengthened around recycled and upcycled textiles. Today, we specialize in transforming washed old clothes and new fabric scraps into eco-friendly utility products, home décor, corporate gifting items, and sustainable packaging solutions.
By doing so, we actively reduce landfill waste, lower carbon footprints, and contribute to a circular economy.
One of our signature initiatives is the creation of custom Godhadi (traditional patchwork quilts) made from customers’ own clothes. These quilts preserve emotions and cherished memories while generating livelihoods for women artisans and promoting local craftsmanship, self-reliance, and ethical production.
We collaborate with individuals, institutions, and corporate organizations to offer sustainable gifting and packaging solutions aligned with Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) goals. Our products help organizations conserve resources, reduce carbon footprints, and build meaningful connections with environmentally conscious stakeholders.
Beyond products and partnerships, we advocate mindful and conscious living. We believe humans are an inseparable part of nature, and sustainability flourishes when environmental responsibility, social impact, economic balance, emotional connection, and mindful choices come together.
