Each effort aimed to reduce waste while creating practical alternatives for everyday use.Alongside product development, we actively supported natural farming communities and goshala initiatives by creating awareness and enabling the sale of their products. The Sustainable Era also evolved into a supportive platform for individuals and small groups working in the eco-friendly space, helping them reach conscious consumers and sustain their livelihoods.

Education and awareness have always been integral to our work. We encouraged responsible waste management at the household level by teaching and motivating people to convert kitchen waste into compost. We provided visibility and support to natural vegetable and greens vendors, organized hands-on workshops on eco-friendly products, and arranged expert lectures and interactive sessions to deepen understanding of sustainability among communities.
Over time, our focus strengthened around recycled and upcycled textiles. Today, we specialize in transforming washed old clothes and new fabric scraps into eco-friendly utility products, home décor, corporate gifting items, and sustainable packaging solutions.
By doing so, we actively reduce landfill waste, lower carbon footprints, and contribute to a circular economy.

One of our signature initiatives is the creation of custom Godhadi (traditional patchwork quilts) made from customers’ own clothes. These quilts preserve emotions and cherished memories while generating livelihoods for women artisans and promoting local craftsmanship, self-reliance, and ethical production.

We collaborate with individuals, institutions, and corporate organizations to offer sustainable gifting and packaging solutions aligned with Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) goals. Our products help organizations conserve resources, reduce carbon footprints, and build meaningful connections with environmentally conscious stakeholders.

Beyond products and partnerships, we advocate mindful and conscious living. We believe humans are an inseparable part of nature, and sustainability flourishes when environmental responsibility, social impact, economic balance, emotional connection, and mindful choices come together.
🌱 Add nature to everyone’s routine.
♻️ Upcycle. Recycle. Live mindfully.
🌍 Sustainability works best when all dimensions come together.
The Sustainable Era is not just a brand — it is a movement towards a balanced, responsible, and enduring way of living.

About the Founder

From a very young age, when I first began to understand the world around me, many questions would arise in my mind. Questions like — What is happening around us? Why are we here? What is our purpose? What is God? What is spirituality?

My native place is Vadodara but
I grew up in a village and small-town environment in Gujarat where life was closely connected with nature. Playing in the soil, climbing trees, spending time in open playgrounds, reading books, and observing people around me were all part of my childhood.

Whenever I met someone new, I would ask questions and try to understand different perspectives. My curiosity about natural living and simple lifestyles kept growing, and I always tried to find answers to the questions that came to my mind.

Although I am a Software Engineer by profession, but my heart has always been drawn toward sustainable living and natural lifestyles. Being originally from Gujarat, I have closely experienced the culture, food traditions, and many beautiful practices connected with natural living.

I was also deeply inspired by traditional wisdom such as “Aaji cha Batwa” — the simple, natural remedies and practices that were part of everyday life in earlier times. I often wondered how these simple, natural practices that benefit our lives could also be shared with others.

After marriage, I got an opportunity to participate in an exhibition. Until then, I had already started creating some eco-friendly products at home and was also exploring concepts like cooking in clay pots and other sustainable practices that I personally followed and studied.
Learning new things, researching them, experimenting, and adopting what truly feels right has always been something I enjoy doing.

My first exhibition opportunity came from MIT Engineering College, Pune. The response from students, parents, and professors was very encouraging. That experience gave me confidence, and through references I started getting opportunities to participate in many more exhibitions.

I once read a beautiful line:
“Your business will expose every unhealed part of you. That’s why entrepreneurship is not just a career path — it is an involuntary therapy that forces you to confront yourself.”

In many ways, entrepreneurship becomes part of our healing journey and spiritual journey. When we work on something we truly love, we naturally become deeply present in it. Today people often call this mindfulness, but when we do something we love, we are already fully mindful. Sometimes we even describe this feeling as being in a meditative state.

For me, working on The Sustainable Era feels exactly like that. When I am creating, researching, or sharing these ideas, I feel completely absorbed in the process — almost like meditation.

Creativity exists in everything, and when we get an opportunity to express creativity in something we truly love, it becomes even more meaningful.

Through exhibitions and interactions with people, I have had the opportunity to share these ideas, answer questions, and at the same time learn so much from others. This journey of learning and sharing is still continuing.

If I talk about contribution, the word itself feels small because this journey has never been mine alone. Many people have been walking along with me on this path. It started from my home — with the constant support of my parents, my sisters.

Most importantly, my husband and my son have always been by my side, along with my extended family and friends who continue to encourage and support this work.

Finally, I would like to say that I have written these thoughts just as they came to my mind — in a raw and honest way, without overthinking. If there are any mistakes, I sincerely apologize.
And from the bottom of my heart, i am grateful to all of you.

With Best Regards
Shruti Akolkar Kulkarni
